Human vs Nature
My most recent project has been on the theme Human vs Nature. As part of my research I looked at natural disasters especially the most recent Japanese Tsunami.
I began sketching and collaging using my research of the Japanese Tsunami as my inspiration
From my sketches i gathered my and images together to produce a screen. I then used this screen to print on to a plaster back where I pushed different clays on to the print and left to dry a little before peeling off.
This sample was made my pouring slip on to the print that had already been used for the sample above .

fragility samples
I experimented with home made glazes, Lithium white, Barium turqoise, tin white with cobalt oxide and green slip sprayed. The form split and cracked during the drying and firing process.
Screen print on to clay and then pressed into my plaster mould. Glazed with tin white.
I experimented with slip casting but pouring in glazes and coloured slip before the casting slip I then fired it straight to earthenware.
